North Coast - Honolua Bay

Lush and tropical are commonly used words to describe the stunning NorthWest coast of Maui. Comprised of Ka'anapali, Napili, Kapalua and beyond, you won't find a more popular and pristine, yet totally unspoiled region around Maui. The green flora and fauna form a phenomenal backdrop that we are lucky enough to enjoy on this paddling excursion.

Come enjoy "ESCAPADE" and stay for the day! Bring the beach towel and take in a full day of Northern exposure!

Whether it's Winter or Summer, Honolua Bay continually draws attention with tourists and locals alike!

Come in the Winter and you'll be packing a surfboard, whereas during the Summer months we peacefully explore this beautiful area via kayak. We'll cover every square inch of this phenomenal marine preserve.  Our guides will be in the water with you, pointing out all of the wonderful underwater sights to be seen, many of which are totally missed by unguided visitors.

The coral is pristine and the environment untouched.

You'll love it!

Wildlife - Turtles & Dolphins

Some trips take you to look at marine life, but only a few take you to actually swim with marine life!

Every trip out gets a wide range of animal life. Turtles, eels, octopus  and eagle rays are among the daily highlights, whereas the feature presentation of dolphins makes an appearance about 50-70% of the time. It's a thrill for the senses when you see wild animals zooming around you in the water and alongside you on your kayak!

Come check it out!

Escapade - Kayak & Snorkel tour itinerary

Getting going early means relaxing paddling and lots of wildlife.

Start out with a leisurely drive up Highway 30 to Kapalua, where you'll meet us at D.T. Fleming BEach Park at 7:15 am. The park is just 10 minutes from Ka'anapali, 25 minutes from Lahaina, and about 1 hour from the Kihei and Wailea resort areas. Once you arrive you'll get geared up with all the latest snorkeling equipment, paddling life jackets and drybags to hold your small valuables (wallet, car keys, cameras, etc).

After getting setup to have fun, our guides take you through a comprehensive 15-20 minute briefing that covers everything from proper paddling techniques and snorkeling tips all the way to safety reminders and tips on getting in and out of our kayaks. When we say that no experience is required, we mean it.

Let's get wet!

When 7:45am rolls around...it's time to hit the water.

The launch at Fleming Beach can be anything from flat water to shooting out through light surf. Once on the water and gathered together,  the guide will lead you Norhtward for about 15-20 minutes of paddling. The warm sunrise creates dramatic shadows against the bright indigo waters that are the hallmark of North Maui. The whole time heading North you'll be keeping your eyes open for the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins. At any moment the dolphins can show up, and when they do the trip gets detoured to cater to that experience. Just imagine how wonderful the warm morning glow will feel as you paddle against phenomenal beauty, through 78 degree Hawaiian waters, breathing in the sweet South Pacific breezes of Kapalua.

Water temperature is about 78°F (c. 25°C)

It's time to go deep!

Upon arrival at each of the three snorkeling locations (Third snorkeling location is optional, and at the discretion of the guide based upon overall group desires.), the guide will hook all the kayaks together and safely drop an anchor in a sandy patch so that everyone may relax and get their mask and fins on. Everyone who wants to, gets in the water and is free to snorkel on their own if they so desire. That said, the most fun will be had if you stay close to your guide in the water, as he'll be pointing out unique marine life, snapping underwater digital photos, and leading the way to the best regions along each reef.

On "ESCAPADE" we'll be seeing tons of turtles, eels, octopus, a plethora of colorful tropical reef fish, and even the occasional white tip shark. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild marine environments, we are unable to guarantee the exact marine life that will be seen on each trip.

If the conditions are right we are able to take advantage of the local currents and do a nice lengthy drift snorkel, thus staying in the water longer and making the return paddle shorter. The longer we stay in the water, the more wonderful marine life that is seen!

Finish a wonderful trip with a free beach lunch!

Food. It's an essential element to any activity requiring physical exertion, and our kayaking/snorkeling combination trips are certainly no exception. All of our trips depart from beach parks, stay on the water for the duration of the trip and usually cover some unique and inordinate terrain areas, all of which combines to make environmentally friendly food service a difficult task to be sure.

To that end, we've exclusively partnered with a premier, owner operated catering company to provide two option (Our lunch selections are subject to change without notice. In addition, the portions are on the smaller side and we highly recommend that guests with a large appetite bring additional rations and/or make other arrangements.) for our customers to choose from for their complimentary beach lunch. Whether you love vegetarian or meat is more your thing, we've got you covered. Both selections are individually prepared and packaged each morning to ensure freshness and quality when it's time to eat.

These lunch selections are beach style, of a light to moderate quantity and provided complimentary by Maui Eco Tours. On all of our adventures we recommend that "big eaters" pack some additional rations if they are so inclined. In addition, we also request that all of our guests bring a bottle of water for themselves, as hydration is always an important element to a fun day here on Maui.

A complimentary beach lunch! What a wonderful way to finish a five star kayaking and snorkeling experience.

After all, It's your vacation!
